CHOOSE WHAT THE OPENING NEEDS TO DO

One brief. Three ways to operate.

Choose daylight alone or add ventilation, then shape the glazing around the room.

01

Fixed

For daylight where an opening sash is not needed. Include the room’s existing ventilation in your brief.

02

Manual opening

For daylight and ventilation with manual control. Mark the opening height so reach and operation can be considered.

03

Electric opening

For powered ventilation. Atlite’s electric Roof Window includes automatic rain closure; include controls and electrical work in the quote.

ATLITE ROOF WINDOW

Options to put in your brief.

FROM DESIGN TO INSTALLATION

Plan the roof opening and the room below.

The roof opening and the finished ceiling opening may be different. If there is a roof space above the room, a lined shaft can be part of the work. Its depth, shape and finish belong in the design conversation alongside the skylight itself.

For a new build or renovation, send the relevant roof plan, floor plan and section if available. For an existing home, start with your suburb, the room and what you know about the roof. Attach drawings or photographs to your enquiry so we can review the proposed opening in context.

Useful details for your quote

  • The room and what you want to improve
  • Approximate opening dimensions, if known
  • Roof material and whether it is flat or pitched
  • Fixed or opening preference
  • Project stage and any architect or builder involved

Attach plans or photos to your email, or start with the information you have.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Custom Skylights FAQs

Practical starting points for your Sydney project.

Can a custom skylight be made in any size or shape?

The available size, shape and glazing depend on the Atlite system and the requirements of your building. Send your design brief so we can discuss feasibility. An unusual shape or large opening needs its own specification.

Can I add a custom skylight to an existing home?

An existing home can be considered, but the roof structure, ceiling, available access and proposed opening need review. Start with the room and roof details; the installation scope can then be worked through.

Can a custom skylight open?

Atlite offers fixed and opening roof window options, including manual and powered operation. The available configuration needs to be confirmed for the size and system proposed.

Should I choose a custom skylight or VELUX?

A custom solution is worth exploring when dimensions or architectural design drive the brief. A VELUX skylight may suit a project that fits its available sizes and roof requirements. Compare the ranges before deciding.

What does a custom skylight quote need to cover?

The product specification, roof opening, support, weatherproofing, access and internal finishing all need a clear scope. Our cost guide explains the questions to ask when comparing quotes.

BEYOND PRODUCT SELECTION

Installation matters.

The roof work, internal finish and handover need a clear place in your project scope.
