Flat roof or pitched roof?
VELUX has separate flat and pitched roof ranges. The roof pitch, covering, opening and installation details determine which product is suitable. If you do not know the roof pitch, choose “Not sure” in your enquiry and describe the property.
For the room below, think about where daylight would be most useful and whether glare or early morning light could be a concern. Ask about a compatible blind when discussing the model. For a replacement enquiry, mention the existing skylight and whether its size or position is changing.

Can a VELUX skylight go on a flat roof?
VELUX offers a flat roof skylight range. The specific model and installation must suit the actual roof pitch and construction. A pitched roof product should not be assumed suitable for a flat roof.
Which pitched roof models can I ask about?
The VELUX pitched roof range includes FS fixed, VS manual, VSE electric and VSS solar-powered skylights. Selection still depends on the dimensions, roof and installation requirements.
Should I choose fixed or opening?
Choose around the room: do you want daylight alone, or an opening option too? Also consider how the skylight will be reached or controlled. The buying guide helps you compare the three Skylite ranges.
Can I add blinds?
Ask about a blind compatible with the exact skylight model and size. Mention whether your priority is reducing light in a bedroom or controlling brightness in a living space.
What should a VELUX installation quote include?
Check the model, size, roof installation, internal shaft or lining, finishing and any accessories or electrical work. A product-only price does not describe the whole installation. Read the Sydney cost guide.
